Bronx legend and hip-hop wildcard Kool Keith has put the word out to watch his space come September, as Feature Magnetic - the artists' first solo album since 2014 - is looming.
Kool Keith founded the Ultramagnetic MC's in 1984 - a New York supergroup which also originally consists of members Ced Gee, Moe Love and TR Love, with several names attached unofficially in the years that followed. Known for his eclectic style and lyrical content, Keith has always been a man on the fringes of the hip-hop community, forever receiving mixed reviews since the mid-to-late '80s, yet unapologetically continuing his craft. It's cemented him as an old-school figurehead, and one that wants to stand up now in a crowd of new wave rappers and shout obscene, and often mystifying shit with a gang of help.
Feature Magnetic is heavy with, can you guess it? Features. 12 tracks host an array of talent, with names including MF DOOM, Ras Kass, Bumpy Knuckles, Sadat X, Ed O.G., Slug of Atmosphere, and several more.
Out through Mello Music Group, Feature Magnetic will be available as of September 16. The first single 'World Wide Lamper' is available to listen and download today though.
